Silc is a liberal foundation that assists democracy development. The goal of our projects is to strengthen organisations and support individuals who develop and promote democracy and human rights.
Democratization requires outstanding political participants and entities who can mobilize citzens and institutions to undertake necessary change. Silc works primarily with political parties and youth, women’s and human rights’ organizations as well as independent journalists.
For us, a society can never be considered uplifting if its citizens lack the right to express what they think, to organize in defense of their intrests, and to choose their leaders in democratic elections.
The bulk of our work occurs in totalitarian and post-totalitarian states such as Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cuba, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine.
